Meet the Sinclairs. There are no drug addicts in the Sinclair family. Nor are there any criminals. Or failures. The Sinclairs are perfect: tall, athletic, handsome, and as if that isn't enough rich. It doesn't matter that bills go unpaid, and that pill bottles lay around in stacks or that they barely have hearts left from losing family members left and right through divorce, because the Sinclairs are perfect. Now meet Cadence Sinclair Eastman. She is the heiress to her grandfather's massive fortune. But Cadence is far from perfect. She is weak. She suffers migraines. But that is after. No, let's first talk about before. Before: Cadence spent her time with Mirren, and Johnny, Gat too, but he came along in summer eight. Her family called them the Liars. The Liars: Gat, Mirren, Johnny, and Cadence. They are the best of friends but soon their friendship turns destructive. Lies upon lies are told, because the Sinclairs are perfect. But Cadence wants the truth. Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
My friend was reading We Were Liars when I first saw it. It looked interesting, so I added it to my to-read-list. But I finally got access to it after almost 5 months. When I read the blurb, again, I had forgotten that I wanted to read it. But when I finished reading the blurb I realized it was the same book. I loved We Were Liars. I loved it because of the way it was written. Every page was laced with mystery which kept me wanting to read more. I loved it because of the twists and turns it took. But the main reason I loved it was the ending. So sorry, but I can't say anymore than, the ending will shock you. I would give We Were Liars 5 stars solely because of the mystery and the ending.
