Allyson Healey's life is planned and ordered. On the last day of her post-graduation three week trip, she meets Willem. Willem is everything Allyson is not, free-spirited and brave. So when, Willem asks her to abandon her plans and come on a one day trip to Paris, Allyson agrees. This completely unexpected answer begins, the best 24 hours of Allyson's life. Those 24 hours are filled with adventure, risk, and freedom. Those 24 hours are the ones that transform her. A story of travel, identity, and "accidents." In order to be found you must first get lost...
Just One Day is an amazing book. I have got to hand it to Gayle Forman, she really knows how to keep you guessing. You think you know what is going to happen and then wham! 180 degree turn. But that is only half of the reason I loved Just One Day. Gayle Forman takes you on a journey, a journey of losing, finding, searching, and coincidence that maybe, just maybe, might be fate. You spend time with the characters, watch them mature, grow, learn, and change; And among it all, you change. I would give Just One Day 5 stars, for the beautifully implemented writing techniques and the way Gayle Forman can make you lose yourself in her story. I will warn you though this book has the ability to cause a serious case of book hangover.
