Artemis Fowl by: Eoin Colfer

Artemis Fowl is a genius, millionaire and a criminal mastermind, and he is only twelve. As Artemis tries to get more money by kidnapping a fairy, Captain Holly Short of LEPrecon, he puts himself into something he never even imagined. Will he escape get what he wants? A lot of people recommended Artemis Fowl  to me.  Artemis Fowl  is one of those children's fantasy books that you have to read as a kid. I didn't read it as a kid, I read it as a teenager and I still enjoyed it. It reminded me a bit of Alex Rider . Yes, Alex Rider  is quite different from Artemis Fowl  but Artemis and Alex are both prodigies who using their skills to the full extent. Eoin Colfer's writing style reminded me of the style that the 39 Clues is written in. The style might be similar because both series are written for the same age group. Which causes me to regret the decisions I made as a 12-year-old. I would have enjoyed Artemis Fowl  so much more if I had been younger when I read it. I would

Vesper by: Jeff Sampson

Emily Webb is a geek and she is quite content that way. She doesn't get into fights, flirt with other girls' boyfriends, or sneak out for midnight parties. But then one night she finds herself doing just that. On top of that Emily doesn't know why she is doing any of this. During the day she is the same old geeky Emily but during the night she turns into a thrill seeker. Every night she gets wilder and wilder until it's not just Emily's personality that is changing. She is becoming stronger, faster, and fearless. Emily realizes that she might not just be coming out her shell, something much bigger might be going on. When I started reading Vesper  I was confused. But it was a good kind of confusion. I was confused because Emily was confused. Jeff Sampson managed to convey the situation and the Emily's feelings very well which caused me to experience things alongside Emily. Jeff Sampson also wrote Emily's "transformation" from nerd to popular g

Brain Jack by: Brian Falkner

In a world where Las Vegas is gone, New York City is being patrolled, and an online gaming is the most dangerous drug around, neuro-headsets have replaced computer keyboards. Sam Wilson knows he has to get his hands on one. But once he gets a headset and familiarizes himself with the technology he has a terrifying realization. If you can hack a computer, what happens when your mind is linked to the system? Can your consciousness itself be hacked? Brain Jack  was a good read in terms of plot but I didn't enjoy it as much because it was about one of my not so favorite topics: Computers. To be more specific it was about coding and how people hack computers, and I haven't really tried to understand how computers work so some of the terms went over my head. If you are planning on reading Brain Jack  I suggest you have an understanding of computers. I would give it 3 stars even though some of the terms went over my head. Here is the Goodreads link for Brain Jack : http://www.
